Contesting a traffic ticket involves a formal process to dispute the charge and prove that the violation did not occur as cited. Carefully read the traffic ticket to understand the specific violation, the date, time, and location of the incident, and any instructions for contesting the ticket. If you fail to pay the ticket, you will receive a summons to appear in Court where you will plea not guilty to the charge. You will then be afforded a trial to defend yourself against the charge. Good luck.
