Traffic Court Convictions

Basseterre, St. Kitts (February 21, 2025) – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues its diligent efforts in enforcing the law as several matters were heard at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, presided over by Her Honor Sherry-Ann Liburd Charles, on February 17 and 20, 2025

During the court proceedings, the following individuals were convicted and fined:

 1. Justin King of Frigate Bay – Convicted and fined $1,000, to be paid within two (2) months, or in default, serve one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of driving without due care and attention, committed on April 18, 2024.

 2. Steve Percival of Verchilds –
 • Convicted and fined $3,000 in four (4) months, or in default, serve 30 days imprisonment for the offence of reckless driving.

 • Convicted and fined $1,000 in one (1) month, or in default, serve 14 days imprisonment for failing to comply with a traffic light signal (red light), committed on November 6, 2023.

 • He was disqualified for three (3) months from holding or obtaining a driver’s license.

 3. Brenden Tuckett of Central Street –
 • Convicted and fined $1,000 in two (2) months, or in default, serve 14 days imprisonment for driving without a valid and unexpired license.

 • Convicted and fined $1,000 in three (3) months, or in default, serve 14 days imprisonment for exceeding the speed limit. 

 • Convicted and cautioned for driving without insurance, committed on August 5, 2024.

 4. Jeanette Boyd of Ponds Extension – Convicted and fined $750 in one (1) month, or in default, serve 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention, committed on July 24, 2024. 

 5. Martires Pantaleon Liusa of Central Street – Convicted and fined $1,500 in two (2) months, or in default, serve 30 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention, committed on July 16, 2024. 

 6. Mervin Gayle of Sandy Point – Convicted and fined $2,000 in one (1) month, or in default, serve 30 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention, committed on May 6, 2022. 

 7. Williams Muide Ubiere of Prickle Pear Alley – Convicted and fined $2,000 in three (3) months, or in default, serve 30 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention, committed on February 14, 2024. 

Additionally, the court addressed several other matters:
 • Nine (9) ticket matters were withdrawn after proof of payment of the fines. 
 • Thirty-four (34) matters were adjourned to various dates.
 • A bench warrant was issued for Vonya Akers of Mansion.
