Traffic Department Conducts Vehicular Checkpoint Operation

Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 7, 2025) – The Traffic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues its efforts to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations. 

On March 7, 2025, between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM, officers led by Inspector Gordon conducted a Vehicular Checkpoint (VCP) operation at Conaree Main Road and Johnson Long Path.

During the operation, a total of fifty-eight (58) traffic tickets were issued for various offences, underscoring the department’s commitment to ensuring compliance with road safety laws. 

The violations included:

 • Exceeding speed limit – 17 tickets
 • Driving with a child under the age of 5 without a child seat – 8 tickets
 • Driving with a child under 14 without a seatbelt – 7 tickets
 • Driving with dark-tinted windscreen – 15 tickets
 • Failing to produce driver’s license immediately – 1 ticket
 • Driving without a valid and unexpired driver’s license – 2 tickets
 • Driving with a defective tire – 1 ticket
 • Identification mark not conforming – 2 tickets
 • Unlicensed vehicle – 2 tickets
 • Driving without a seatbelt – 3 tickets

The Traffic Department remains vigilant in enforcing traffic laws to reduce road accidents and promote responsible driving.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force urges all motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, as non-compliance puts lives at risk. The public is reminded that road safety is a shared responsibility, and all drivers must play their part in ensuring a safe and orderly traffic environment.
