62 Traffic Tickets Issued During Vehicular Checkpoint On Wellington Road

On the evening of Friday, May 16, 2025, a Vehicular Checkpoint (VCP) was conducted on Wellington Road in the vicinity of the PWD Gas Station. The operation, led by Superintendent Bradshaw, Sergeant Henry, and officers of the Traffic Department, resulted in the issuance of sixty-two (62) traffic tickets for a range of infractions between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The offences recorded during the operation are as follows: • Exceeding the Speed Limit: 40 tickets • Driving at Night with One Lighted Headlamp: 12 tickets • Driving with Unauthorized Lights: 4 tickets • Identification Mark Not Conforming to Regulation: 1 ticket • Passenger Not Wearing Seatbelt: 1 ticket • Driving Without Seatbelt: 1 ticket • Driving Unlicensed Vehicle: 1 ticket • Driving Without Lighted Headlamp: 1 ticket • Using Defective Tyre Showing Thread: 1 ticket The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force takes this opportunity to remind all motorists that traffic laws are in place to ensure the safety of all road users. The high number of speeding violations is particularly concerning and indicative of a persistent disregard for road safety regulations. Drivers are strongly urged to exercise greater caution, adhere to speed limits, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with the law. The Police Force remains resolute in its efforts to reduce road traffic accidents and to hold violators accountable under the law.
