The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is investigating two armed robberies that occurred in the Basseterre area. Both incidents involved masked assailants and firearms, and in each case, the perpetrators fled the scenes.
The first incident took place on July 18th, 2025, between 10 PM and 10:30 PM at Upper Market Street. A female business owner reported that while closing her bar, two armed, masked males approached her and violently snatched two gold chains from her neck before fleeing into a nearby overgrown, abandoned property.
The second incident occurred on July 20th, 2025, between 11 AM and 11:30 AM, at Hong Yun Supermarket on the Bay Road in Newtown. The owner reported that two (2) masked males dressed in black and wearing gloves entered the establishment, one of whome was visibly armed with a handgun. The assailants stole approximately a sum of money, along with lighters and rolling paper, before fleeing the scene.
The Crime Scene Unit of the RSCNPF processed both scenes and collected some items of evidential value. Both investigations remain active and ongoing. Several investigative leads are being pursued and we will continue to update the public accordingly.
The RSCNPF urges anyone with information on either matter to come forward by contacting the nearest Police station.
