Traffic Court Convictions – Motorist Sentenced To Prison

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, through the Traffic Department, continues its enforcement of the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act. During recent sittings at the Basseterre Magistrate's Court, several motorists were convicted for serious traffic offenses.

The outcomes serve as a reminder of the consequences of unsafe driving practices and the need for all road users to comply with the law.

Issam Ferchichi of Frigate Bay—Fined $1,000.00 or 1 month imprisonment for Driving Without Due Care and Attention.

Odaine Curtis Wright of Lodge Project—sentenced to 2 months imprisonment for Driving Without Insurance and 6 months concurrent imprisonment for obstruction. He was also cautioned for Driving Without a Valid License and Failing to Comply with Traffic Directions.

Anton Dextrose Ward of Nevis Street—Fined $1,000.00 forthwith for Driving Without Insurance and $500.00 each for Seatbelt Violation, Driving Without a Valid License, and Giving a False Name. Cautioned for Driving with One Headlamp.

Paul Whyte of Lodge Village—Fined $500.00 forthwith for exceeding the Speed Limit.

The Traffic Department reminds all motorists that road safety is a shared responsibility. The Police will continue to maintain a zero-tolerance approach to reckless and unlawful driving across the Federation.
