Traffic Court Conviction

Several persons appeared before His Honour Mr. Reynold Benjamin at the Basseterre Magistrate's Court on Thursday, 13th November, 2025, where they were convicted and fined for the following traffic violations:

1. Licensing Authority vs Glenford Jack of Cayon Street
The defendant pleaded Not Guilty but was convicted and fined $1,000.00 for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 19th April, 2025.

2. Licensing Authority vs David Yabrifa of St. Pauls
The defendant pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined $2,500.00 forthwith, or thirty (30) days imprisonment, for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 11th February, 2025.

3. Licensing Authority vs Athelster Gordon of Boyds
The defendant pleaded Guilty and was convicted and fined $2,000.00, payable within fourteen (14) days, or one (1) month imprisonment, for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 6th February, 2025.

4. Licensing Authority vs George Charles of Ponds Extension. The defendant pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined $2,000.00, payable within one (1) month, or twenty-one (21) days imprisonment, for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 20th May, 2025.

5. Licensing Authority vs Gerry Moise of Frigate Bay
The defendant pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined $2,000.00, payable within fourteen (14) days, or one (1) month imprisonment, for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 31st April, 2025.

6. Licensing Authority vs Akeem Williams of Sandy Point
The defendant pleaded Guilty and was convicted of two offences arising from 28th March, 2025:

• Driving Without a Valid or Unexpired License: Fined $500.00, payable within three (3) months, or one (1) month imprisonment.

• Driving Without Insurance: Fined $500.00, payable within six (6) months, or one (1) month imprisonment.

7. Licensing Authority vs Javonie Collins of Ponds Extension. The defendant pleaded Guilty and was convicted and fined $1,500.00, payable within one (1) month, or three (3) months imprisonment, for Driving Without Due Care and Attention committed on 5th July, 2025.

The Traffic Department continues to urge all motorists to exercise caution and comply with the laws governing the use of the Federation’s roadways. Road safety remains a shared responsibility and a critical component in preserving life and property across St. Kitts and Nevis.
