Traffic Court Convictions

The following persons appeared before the Basseterre Magistrate Court between January 7 and 10 for a range of traffic-related offenses and were convicted and fined as follows:

Matters Heard Before Her Honor, Ms. Yasmine Clarke (January 7, 2025)

1. Dylan Matthews of Frigate Bay

Driving without due care and attention: fined $1,500.00 payable in three months or one-month imprisonment.

Matters Heard Before Her Honor, Mrs. Sherry-Anne Liburd-Charles (January 9, 2025)

1. Jason McKoy of Douglas

Driving without due care and attention: fined $1,000.00 payable in one month or 14 days imprisonment.

2. Wilfred Pollock of Saddlers

Driving without due care and attention: fined $2,000.00 payable in three months or 30 days imprisonment.

3. Estevan Lawrence of St. Peters

Driving without a relevant license: fined $400.00 payable in one month or 14 days imprisonment.

Driving without insurance: fined $1,000.00 payable in two months or 14 days imprisonment.

Indecent language: Fined $1,000.00 payable in four months or 14 days imprisonment.

4. Kindra Rawlins of Ottley’s

Driving without due care and attention: fined $2,000.00 payable by January 31, 2025, or 30 days imprisonment.

5. Vincent Lewis of Middle Island

Driving without due care and attention: fined $750.00 payable in one month or 14 days imprisonment.

Matters Heard Before His Honor, Mr. Reynold Benjamin (January 10, 2025)

1. J’Moi Caines of Taylor's

Driving while using a cell phone: fined $500.00 forthwith or 14 days imprisonment.

Driving without a valid and unexpired license: fined $650.00 forthwith or 21 days imprisonment.

Failing to produce a license immediately: Convicted and cautioned.

2. Shamar Stapleton of Lodge

Failing to comply with a traffic sign: fined $100.00 forthwith or 10 days imprisonment.
