Traffic Court Convictions

Basseterre, St. Kitts (March 18, 2025) – Inspector Gordon and officers of the Traffic Department appeared before the Basseterre Magistrate Court on March 10 and March 18, 2025, where several traffic-related matters were heard and disposed of by Her Honour Yasmine Clarke. The following convictions and sentences were handed down:

March 10, 2025
 1. Gleneva Wilson of Lodge was convicted and fined:
 • $200.00, to be paid within two (2) weeks, or in default, seven (7) days imprisonment for the offence of failing to produce a driver’s license immediately, committed on September 2, 2024.

 • $200.00, to be paid within two (2) weeks, or in default, seven (7) days imprisonment for the offence of driving an unlicensed vehicle, committed on September 2, 2024.

 2. Tylo Williams of West Farm was convicted and fined:

 • $200.00, to be paid within one (1) week, or in default, seven (7) days imprisonment for the offence of driving without a seatbelt, committed on July 16, 2022.
 
• $200.00, to be paid within one (1) week, or in default, seven (7) days imprisonment for the offence of driving without a valid and unexpired license, committed on July 16, 2022.

 3. Giron Hanley of Lamberts was convicted and fined:
 • $850.00, to be paid within one (1) month, or in default, one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of driving without due care and attention, committed on May 6, 2024.

Additionally, thirty (30) ticket matters were withdrawn due to payment of the fines, and nine (9) matters were adjourned. 

March 18, 2025

 1. Kevanne Thomas of Cayon pleaded not guilty but was convicted and fined:

 • $1,500.00, to be paid within three (3) months, or in default, one (1) month imprisonment for the offence of driving without due care and attention, committed on August 2, 2023.

 2. Clarence Hendrickson of Boyd’s Project pleaded not guilty but was convicted and cautioned for the offence of driving without due care and attention, committed on June 16, 2024.

Additionally, eleven (11) ticket matters were withdrawn due to payment of the fines. Nine (9) matters were adjourned until April 13, 2025.

The Traffic Department continues to urge all motorists to comply with the traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users
