Traffic Court Convictions

At sittings of the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 12th May and 15th May 2025, several traffic-related matters were heard and disposed of before Her Honour Yasmine Clarke and Her Honour Sherry-Ann Liburd Charles, respectively. 

On 12th May, the court delivered rulings in the following matters:

 1. Ganraj Persuad of New Road was found Guilty of driving without due care and attention and fined $1,500.00 payable within three (3) months, or face three (3) months imprisonment. 

 2. Onzel Tyrell pleaded Guilty to driving an unlicensed vehicle and was fined $250.00, payable within three (3) weeks, or 14 days imprisonment. 

On 15th May, the following convictions were recorded:

 1. Hilton Julius of Old Road pleaded Guilty to three counts of driving without due care and attention and was fined $2,000.00, payable within 1 month, or face 30 days imprisonment. 

 2. Melissa Stevens of Molyneux pleaded Guilty to driving without due care and attention and was fined $750.00, payable within 1 month, or 14 days imprisonment. 

 3. Dwayne Warner of Mansion Ext., was found Guilty of driving without due care and attention and fined $1,500.00, payable within 1 month, or 30 days imprisonment. 

 4. Janae Thompson of Old Road pleaded Guilty to multiple offences:

 • Permitting another to drive without insurance: Cautioned
 • Permitting another to drive without a valid license: Fined $400.00 by 13th June 2025, or 14 days imprisonment

 5. Blessed Ogbum of Bird Rock pleaded Guilty to multiple offences:
 • Driving without a valid license: Fined $1,000.00 by 30th June 2025, or 14 days imprisonment

 • Driving without insurance: Fined $750.00 by 31st July 2025, or 14 days imprisonment

 • Exceeding the speed limit: Fined $450.00 by 30th May 2025, or 14 days imprisonment

 • Driving with darkly tinted windscreen and windows: Cautioned

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force commends the diligent work of the Traffic Department and continues to urge all motorists to exercise caution and full compliance with road safety regulations.
