Traffic Court Convictions

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force remains committed to the enforcement of traffic laws and the promotion of public safety on our roadways. Over a three-day period from 19th to 22nd May 2025, a number of drivers appeared at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court where a number of traffic-related offences were adjudicated. Matters were heard and disposed of before Her Honour Yasmine Clarke and Her Honour Sherry-Ann Liburd-Charles.

The following convictions were recorded:

1. Justin Merritt of Buckleys, was fined $1,000.00, payable in 1 month or 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (29th October 2024).

2. Burnet Lamothe of Cherry Garden, Nevis,  was fined $1,500.00, in 2 months or 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (31st December 2024)

3. Othniel Louis Green of Halfway Tree, was fined $2,000.00, in 1 month or 30 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (20th February 2024).

4. Alexander Galloway of Sandy Point, was convicted and fined $1,500.00, in 2 months or 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (25th May 2024).

5. Nickianne Flemming of Shadwell, was fined for multiple offences committed on 8th November 2024:

Driving without a valid and unexpired license: Fined $2,000.00, in 3 months or 7 days imprisonment.

Driving without insurance: Convicted and cautioned.

Driving without due care and attention: Fined $2,000.00, in 3 months or 14 days imprisonment.

6. Mida Bussue of Taylors, was fined $800.00, in 3 months or 1 month imprisonment for driving without insurance (7th August 2024)

7. Sherizan Williams of Challengers, was fined $200.00, in 1 month or 14 days imprisonment for driving without a seat belt (29th September 2022)

8. Patrick Fulton of Shadwell, was fined $500.00, in 3 months or 14 days imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (30th May 2024)

9. Aman Kabourou Jr. of Ponds Extension, was fined $200.00 for each offence below, in 1 week or 14 days imprisonment. Driving without a seat belt and allowing a passenger to travel unbelted (10th May 2024),

10. Ephriam Carty of Basseterre, was fined $1,000.00, in 3 months or 3 months imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (31st December 2022).

11. Marle Grant of Shadwell, was convicted and fined $1,000.00, in 3 months or 3 months imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (13th June 2024)

12. Ravi Bhojwani of Bird Rock, was fined $800.00, in 2 months or 1 month imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (31st October 2024)

13. Jevon Hagley, was fined $800.00, in 2 months or 1 month imprisonment.for driving without due care and attention (3rd October 2024)

14. Samuel Lawrence of Walwyn Avenue, was convicted and cautioned. For driving without due care and attention (28th December 2024)

15. Marcel Browne of Challengers, was fined $1,500.00, in 3 months or 3 months imprisonment for driving without due care and attention (16th July 2024).

16. Stacy-Ann Morgan of Upper Cayon, was fined $1,000.00, in 2 months or 2 months imprisonment for permitting another to drive without insurance (17th January 2025)

17. Oneal Craig of Upper Cayon, was fined as follows:

Driving without a valid license: $1,000.00, in 2 months or 2 months imprisonment.

Driving without insurance: $1,000.00, in 3 months or 2 months imprisonment.

In addition to the above convictions, several administrative matters were dealt with:

50 ticket matters were withdrawn over the period after  proof of payment of the ticket fines

7 traffic accident cases were adjourned to various dates.

One bench warrant was issued for Marisol Harrigan of Conaree Village on 20th May 2025.

The Traffic Department commends the efforts of the investigators in these matters and urges all motorists to comply with traffic regulations. Road safety is a shared responsibility, and the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force will continue to enforce the law in the interest of protecting lives and maintaining    order on our roads.
