Traffic Court Convictions

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 14, 2025 – The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force wishes to inform the general public of several recent convictions handed down at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court. These matters were heard before Her Honour Yasmine Clarke, where a number of motorists were found guilty of traffic offences relating to driving without due care and Attention. The cases were prosecuted by the Licensing Authority and investigated by officers of the Traffic Department.

Licensing Authority vs. Carol S. Bass of Lower Monkey Hill — Unrepresented. The defendant pleaded GUILTY, was convicted, and fined $850.00, payable within two (2) months or, in default, one (1) month imprisonment. The offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention was committed on 11th May 2025.

Licensing Authority vs. Kadeem T. Govia of Sandy Point—Unrepresented. The defendant pleaded GUILTY, was convicted, and fined $900.00, payable within three (3) months or, in default, one (1) month imprisonment. The offence occurred on 26th May 2025.

Licensing Authority vs. Clyde C. Berkeley of New Road—Unrepresented. The defendant pleaded GUILTY, was convicted, and fined $900.00, payable within two (2) months or, in default, one (1) month imprisonment. The offence occurred on 9th February 2025.

Licensing Authority vs. Romeo Jackson of Sandy Point — Unrepresented. The defendant pleaded GUILTY, was convicted, and fined $800.00, payable within two (2) months or, in default, one (1) month imprisonment. The offence occurred on 21st February 2025.

Licensing Authority vs. Samuel Rhyner of Verchilds — Unrepresented. The defendant pleaded GUILTY, was convicted, and cautioned for the offence of driving without due care and Attention committed on 6th June 2025.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to remind all motorists that safe and responsible driving is critical to ensuring the safety of all road users. Officers of the Traffic Department will remain vigilant and continue enforcing the laws to prevent careless and reckless behavior on the nation’s roads.
