Vehicle Licensing & Notification Requirements

NOV. 23, 2024

THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT REMINDS VEHICLE OWNERS OF THEIR OBLIGATIONS UNDER THE VEHICLES AND ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, CHAPTER 15.06

IF A VEHICLE CANNOT BE LICENSED WHEN THE LICENCE BECOMES DUE, THE OWNER MUST NOTIFY THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT WITHIN ONE (1) MONTH AFTER THE LICENCE EXPIRY DATE, PROVIDING THE REASON FOR THE VEHICLE’S INABILITY TO BE LICENSED (E.G., UNSERVICEABLE OR UNUSED, ETC)

FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED NOTIFICATION WITHIN THE SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME WILL RESULT IN THE VEHICLE OWNER BEING LIABLE FOR THE FULL LICENCE FEE, PLUS PENALTIES, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING LICENSED. TO AVOID THESE CHARGES, VEHICLE OWNERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO COMPLY WITH THE NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

FOR FURTHER DETAILS OR TO SUBMIT NOTIFICATIONS, PLEASE CONTACT THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT
