Prohibition On The Use Of Blue Lights On Private Vehicles

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) wishes to remind all vehicle owners and operators that the use of blue lights or a combination of blue and any other color on private vehicles is strictly prohibited. Blue lights are reserved exclusively for emergency vehicles such as police, fire, and ambulance services in accordance with the law.

This regulation is in place to ensure the safety of all road users and to prevent confusion that may arise from unauthorized vehicles displaying lights meant for emergency services. The unauthorized use of blue lights is a violation of traffic regulations and is subject to penalties, including fines and the possible seizure of the offending vehicle.

We urge all vehicle owners and operators to ensure their vehicles comply with the legal requirements governing the use of lights. This includes removing any unauthorized blue lights or light combinations immediately. Vehicle owners are reminded to prioritize compliance as part of their contribution to road safety and public order.

The RSCNPF will be conducting routine inspections and taking enforcement action against violators to uphold this regulation. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to maintain the safety and integrity of our roadways.
