1. Scope of Elections
1.1. Elections will be conducted for the following categories:
• Special Constables Branch Board
• Constables Branch Board
• Corporals Branch Board
• Sergeants Branch Board
• Sports Club
1.2. Each rank-specific Branch Board election shall be limited to members of that rank. However, elections for the Sports Club are open to all eligible members, irrespective of rank.
2. Voting Rights and Procedures
2.1. Members are permitted to vote exclusively within their rank for their respective Branch Board elections.
2.2. All members, regardless of rank, are eligible to vote for Sports Club candidates.
2.3. Voting entitlements:
• For Branch Boards: Each member may cast a single vote for up to seven (7) candidates within their rank.
• For the Sports Club: Each member may cast a single vote for up to eleven (11) candidates.
2.4. Each member is entitled to vote only once per election.
3. Voting Period and Accessibility
3.1. Polling will commence at 08:00 hours and conclude at 17:00 hours on the designated election day.
3.2. Eligible members may cast their votes at any time during the polling period, regardless of their location.
3.3. The election portal is accessible through the official police website at www.police.kn. Members can vote using any device with an internet connection and a web browser.
3.4. The voting platform is secure and accessible via each member’s unique username and personal password. Members are strictly advised not to share their login credentials under any circumstances.
4. Election Results
4.1. Election results will be declared within 24 hours of the closing of the polls.
4.2. In the event of a tie in the vote count, the candidate with the seniority based on their force number will be deemed the winner.
5. Security and Confidentiality
5.1. The online voting platform ensures confidentiality and security, guaranteeing the integrity of the election process.
5.2. Members are reminded to safeguard their login credentials to prevent unauthorized access.
These guidelines are designed to ensure a transparent, secure, and fair electoral process, providing accessibility and convenience to all eligible members.
