Rscnpf National Intervention Team Youth Drum Corps Celebrates Early Childhood Legacy Through Music & March

16 Jul, 2025 02:07 PMAdmin

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) proudly recognises the continued contributions of the National Intervention Team’s (NIT) Police Youth Drum Corps, under the capable leadership of Sgt Charmain Audain, as they joined in celebrating a significant national milestone: the 40th anniversary of the Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU).

At the Child Month Parade held on June 13th, 2025, the Drum Corps journeyed to Nevis to participate in the island’s Parade, held under the inspiring theme: “From Tiny Steps to Giant Strides: Celebrating 40 Years With Pride.” Their dynamic and energising performance infused the event with vibrant rhythm, captivating the attention and admiration of children, educators, and community members along the parade route. The spirited display of musical talent brought added colour and joy to an already festive occasion.

As part of the ongoing Child Month celebrations, the Drum Corps was also invited to perform during the Grand Parade on June 27th, 2025, in St. Kitts. The parade began at 9 AM and proceeded from Greenlands Pasture through Basseterre, and culminated at Independence Square. Hundreds of children, early childhood professionals, and families marched in recognition and celebration, honouring on a national level the four decades of impactful service and transformative growth in early childhood education.

Sgt Audain and the members of the Police Youth Drum Corps continue to serve as shining examples of what focused mentorship, structured discipline, and national pride can achieve. Their participation in this landmark event not only celebrated the legacy of the ECDU, but also underscored the RSCNPF’s deep investment in the holistic development of our nation’s youth.

The RSCNPF commends the Early Childhood Development Unit and the Ministry of Education for their enduring commitment to nurturing the nation’s youngest minds and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The involvement of the Police Youth Drum Corps in this commemorative event reflects the Force’s ongoing efforts to foster positive youth engagement, promote discipline through music, and strengthen community ties.

The Ministry of Education and the Early Childhood Development Unit also extended sincere gratitude to the RSCNPF and the NIT Police Youth Drum Corps for their enthusiastic participation and continued support of youth development initiatives across the Federation.
