Nit Drum Corps Starts The School Year With Purpose

07 Oct, 2026 12:10 AMAdmin

The National Intervention Police Youth Drum Corps kicked off the new school term with energy, faith, fellowship and purpose.

The Corps welcomed students back at Washington Archibald High School, where the young drummers delivered an exciting display, setting the tone for a positive school year.

The team then gathered at the River of Living Water Christian Center, where Apostle Debbie Isaac prayed for the young people, asking God’s blessings and guidance over them as they entered a new school year.

But the month was about more than drumming.

The Corps also held a special team social, giving members an opportunity to bond, build friendships and strengthen the relationships that make them a family.

According to Sergeant Charmaine Audain, leader of the National Intervention Team and the Police Youth Drum Corps, these moments are essential.

“Our young people need spaces where they can connect, build confidence and learn to support one another. The Drum Corps is about much more than music—it is about discipline, leadership, friendship and positive development.”

The month concluded with the National Youth Rally on Friday, September 25, bringing together children and young people of different ages for an exciting day of participation and celebration.

For the National Intervention Team, every performance, rehearsal and youth activity represents another opportunity to create safe spaces where children can grow, learn, lead and discover their potential.

As the new school year continues, the NIT Drum Corps remains committed to making a positive difference—one young person, one opportunity and one beat at a time.

One Beat. One Sound. One Family.
